DSV Sustainability: From Waste to Possibility
As part of PSJKM’s Sustainability Partner series, we are highlighting DSV and its approach to sustainability. During our Sustainability Week, DSV showcased its sustainability initiatives and shared how operational materials can create new possibilities.
Furthermore, DSV’s participation created an opportunity to connect corporate sustainability with community action. Visitors could explore how everyday operational materials can support a more circular approach.
Through this collaboration, DSV sustainability became part of a wider conversation about waste, resources, and responsible action. Moreover, the exhibition encouraged visitors to consider what happens to materials after their original purpose ends.
Rethinking Operational Waste
Within logistics operations, different materials support daily activities. However, some materials eventually reach the end of their original use.
For example, DSV showcased materials such as string wrap, plastic straps, and protective materials. These materials serve important operational purposes. However, they can become waste once their original function ends.
Therefore, the team invited visitors to look at these materials differently. Instead of immediately treating them as waste, we can explore their potential for reuse and transformation.
This idea inspired our theme, “Operation Waste to Operation Possibility.” Through this theme, PSJKM highlights how DSV sustainability can connect operational practices with circular thinking.
Creating Possibilities Through Collaboration
Furthermore, sustainability can create new opportunities when organisations collaborate with communities. Through PSJKM’s platform, DSV could share its sustainability journey with visitors, partners, and community members.
Meanwhile, PSJKM brings creative skills and circular design experience into these conversations. Therefore, both organisations can explore how existing materials may support new applications and community initiatives.
This approach also shows how DSV sustainability can extend beyond awareness. Instead, organisations can explore practical opportunities through reuse, upcycling, and collaboration.
