Eco-Print Workshop Inspires Orang Asli Students Through Creativity
PSJKM Events recently brought together 60 Orang Asli students and 60 employees from Liberty Insurance through a meaningful eco-print and upcycling workshop. The programme created an engaging learning environment while encouraging students to enjoy school through creative activities. At the same time, the initiative highlighted how experiential learning can support efforts to reduce the school dropout rate within Orang Asli communities.
Dream True Empire coordinated the programme together with PSJKM, while Liberty Insurance supported the initiative as the programme sponsor. Therefore, the collaboration connected corporate employees, facilitators, and indigenous students through sustainability-based learning activities.
Building Confidence Through Hands-On Sustainability Activities
During the workshop, students explored eco-print techniques by using natural leaves to create patterns on tote bags. Meanwhile, Liberty Insurance employees guided and accompanied the students throughout the session. As a result, students gained confidence while experiencing a safe and supportive environment.
In addition, participants joined a plastic upcycling bookmark activity that transformed waste materials into creative products. Consequently, students learned practical sustainability concepts through direct participation instead of classroom theory alone.
PSJKM designed the session to encourage interaction, teamwork, and communication. Furthermore, the programme introduced sustainability in a simple and enjoyable way for younger participants.

Many Orang Asli students face challenges in maintaining long-term interest in school. However, creative programmes can encourage stronger emotional connections to learning environments. Therefore, activities like eco-print workshops help students associate school with positive and memorable experiences.
At the same time, corporate participation creates stronger community engagement. Liberty Insurance employees actively supported the students instead of observing from the sidelines. Consequently, the programme created genuine interaction between urban professionals and indigenous communities.
