Our Journey
2007 – Building Creative Livelihoods
Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif Malaysia (PSJKM) was established in 2007 with a simple yet meaningful mission—to empower communities through sewing and creative handicraft skills.
During our formative years, we focused on equipping women, single mothers, youth, senior citizens and underprivileged communities with practical sewing skills that enabled them to generate income through home-based businesses while preserving Malaysia’s rich sewing and handicraft heritage.
2020 – Embracing Sustainability
Recognising the growing importance of environmental responsibility, PSJKM began integrating sustainability into our programmes.
Natural Dyeing, Eco Printing, textile upcycling and waste reduction initiatives became key pillars of our work. Participants were no longer just learning creative skills—they were learning how creativity could become a solution to environmental challenges.
This marked the beginning of PSJKM’s transformation into a sustainability-driven organisation.
2026 – Leading the Circular Economy Movement
Today, PSJKM has grown into one of Malaysia’s leading community organisations promoting the Circular Economy through practical education and hands-on experiences and being recognised as High Performing NGO by KPWKM.
