A Milestone for the Sew and Save Program
The Sew and Save program took a big step forward on February 22-23 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. This collaboration allowed us to showcase the power of upcycling through an exhibition that attracted a large number of visitors. Attendees discovered how waste materials could transform into valuable products. By sharing these possibilities, we aim to inspire more people to embrace upcycling and sustainability.
Our exhibition featured various upcycled creations, demonstrating the potential of repurposed materials. Visitors had the chance to explore handcrafted items made from discarded textiles, jeans, and plastics. Many were amazed at the creativity and craftsmanship behind each piece. The event provided an eye-opening experience on how simple efforts in upcycling could contribute to reducing waste and promoting a greener future.
Overcoming the Fear of Sewing
Many visitors hesitated to join upcycling efforts because they had never used a sewing machine. To break this barrier, we conducted on-site workshops where participants could try sewing under the guidance of PSJKM teachers. With hands-on experience and professional support, attendees left feeling accomplished and motivated.
