Eco-Workshop @ Taman Tugu: Empowering Sustainable Craft
At the Eco-Workshop @ Taman Tugu, PSJKM continues to drive meaningful sustainability action through hands-on learning. During the second session, our representative, Ms Fang, actively delivered a talk on upcycling and textile sustainability. Then, she guided participants step-by-step in creating a functional Upcycling Jeans Pouch. As a result, participants gained both awareness and practical skills in sustainable crafting. Moreover, the session encouraged participants to rethink textile waste and adopt creative reuse practices.
From Talk to Action: Learning by Doing
Firstly, Ms Fang introduced the impact of textile waste on the environment. Then, she explained how discarded denim can be transformed into useful products. Next, participants engaged directly in the sewing process, which made the learning experience interactive and impactful. Furthermore, our facilitators supported participants closely, ensuring everyone completed their pouch successfully. As a result, participants built confidence while understanding the importance of extending textile life cycles. Therefore, this session effectively combined knowledge sharing with practical application.
