The PSJKM x PPB Empowerment Program 2025 focused on upcycling as a tool for change. This year, 50 underprivileged participants joined the program. They learned skills that not only boost their income but also reduce environmental waste. The program encouraged participants to turn discarded textiles into usable items, showing that small actions can create a big impact.
Transforming Waste into Opportunity
During the session, participants upcycled 100 shirts, 100 jeans, 50 long pants, and 50 skirts. Together, they transformed almost 200 kg of textile waste. This transformation gave participants new skills to support sustainable livelihoods. It also highlighted how upcycling can reduce waste in our daily lives. The initiative empowered individuals to take charge of their future while caring for the environment.

The empowerment program emphasized both skill development and environmental responsibility. Participants discovered the value of creativity, resourcefulness, and teamwork. They now understand that upcycling can provide continuous opportunities for income and self-confidence.
