Empowering Schools with Sustainability Education

PSJKM aims to educate and inspire over 100,000 students and teachers by 2025 through sustainability-focused learning. Schools play a key role in shaping eco-conscious habits. That’s why PSJKM designed the Plastic to Textile: Green Mission in Schools program.

Students actively explore upcycling techniques while learning about textile and plastic waste. They observe real-life upcycled products, convert plastic bags into textiles, and create sustainable items. These hands-on experiences build creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills.

Teachers benefit from a structured sustainability curriculum. They integrate these topics into science, geography, and design & technology classes. This program aligns with Malaysia’s education goals while encouraging eco-conscious learning in schools.

Reducing Textile and Plastic Waste Through Innovation

PSJKM commits to diverting 100 tons of textile waste and 50 tons of plastic waste from landfills by 2025. Schools and students lead the way in these initiatives. They participate in waste collection, upcycling projects, and environmental campaigns.

Old school uniforms and plastic materials become new products. Students design tote bags, accessories, and household items. These projects encourage hands-on sustainability learning while promoting circular fashion.

By fostering environmental responsibility, PSJKM helps schools build long-term eco-friendly practices. Every initiative reduces waste, promotes sustainability, and encourages a greener future.

Nationwide Expansion Towards Sustainable Fashion

In 2025, PSJKM is working towards integrating sustainability education into Malaysia’s national curriculum. The organization collaborates with government agencies, corporate partners, and NGOs.

To enhance engagement, PSJKM plans to launch an annual Eco-Fashion Challenge. This event will inspire students to innovate with upcycled materials. Corporate sponsorships will help expand the program to more schools and communities.
